Hybrid Corvette E-Ray Storms Goodwood 2025 in UK Debut

On 10 July 2025, the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray screamed up the Goodwood Festival of Speed Hillclimb, heralding its UK debut amid Sussex’s rolling countryside. The hybrid sports car combines the timeless charisma of a naturally aspirated V8 with cutting-edge electric drive, making it the first electrified all-wheel-drive Corvette available on British soil.

Executive Chief Engineer Tony Roma and GM Europe President Pere Brugal unveiled the right-hand-drive Coupé and Convertible, priced at £153,440 and £159,230, respectively, and ready for delivery in September 2025. Their message remained clear: order now and enjoy season-proof performance.

E-Ray’s eighth-generation, mid-engine chassis houses a 6.2-litre LT2 Small Block V8 that sends 482 bhp and 613 Nm to the rear, while a compact 1.9 kWh battery feeds a front-mounted motor adding 161 bhp and 165 Nm. The combined 643 bhp launches the car from 0–62 mph in 2.9 seconds, making it the quickest production Corvette ever sold in the United Kingdom.

A predictive eAWD system constantly analyses traction and instantly vectors torque to the axle with the best grip, ensuring confident progress through rain, frost or summer heat. Regenerative braking, coasting, and routine driving keep the battery charged, so owners never have to hunt for a plug.

Drivers may glide away in "Stealth Mode", enjoying silent electric propulsion up to 44 mph before the V8 roars to life. Six selectable settings—"Tour", "Sport", "Track", "Weather", "My Mode" and "Z-Mode"—fine-tune power delivery, and "Charge+" replenishes the battery between track sessions. The infotainment system’s E-Ray Performance App displays "Gauges", "Dyno", and "Data" views, revealing live power, torque, and efficiency metrics.

Standard Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, three-way Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 dampers, and staggered 20-/21-inch Michelin Pilot Sport tyres anchor the low, vast body, now 91 mm broader than a Stingray. Optional carbon-fibre wheels reduce unsprung mass by 18.5 kg, while carbon-flash badging, racing stripes, and visual carbon-fibre aero accents allow owners to match style to substance.

Inside, a fighter-jet-inspired cockpit places every control within easy reach. A head-up display, a Performance Data and Video Recorder, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity come as standard, and an optional 14-speaker Bose Performance Series system turns every journey into a private concert. Customers may choose from three seat designs, more than twenty colour schemes and two carbon-fibre trim packs to craft a personalised cabin.

Active Fuel Management enables four-cylinder operation when cruising, while the electric front axle provides seamless torque delivery, enhancing efficiency without compromising response. Whether carving the North Coast 500, crossing the Pennines or gliding through Knightsbridge traffic, the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray proves that electrification and muscle can coexist in thrilling harmony.

Its Goodwood arrival proclaims a bold future: the American icon now speaks fluent British, ready to conquer every road and every season with electrified conviction.
