McLaren’s States of Endurance: 3 Supercars, 3,867 Miles

Three McLaren supercars crossed eight US states and 3,867 miles to bring the spirit of McLaren and its enduring racing DNA across the United States as part of celebrations marking the 30-year legacy of iconic victory at Le Mans in 1995. The States of Endurance road trip also highlighted more recent innovations in McLaren supercars and endurance racing.

McLaren Pro and Trophy racing drivers Paul Rees, Jack Barlow and Oliver Webb led the drive in the award-winning McLaren 750S Coupé, 750S Spider and the McLaren Artura Spider. They made Pit Stop visits to events hosted by McLaren retailers along a west-to-east coast route, engaging owners and fans at every stage.

The endurance cars wore liveries that represented the Dawn, Day, and Night phases of a 24-hour race. They showcased how racing DNA and an endurance mindset come together in lightweight supercars of meticulous quality that deliver thrilling track performance when required and an unforgettable journey to the destination. The team plotted a route to meet the McLaren community and clients directly, aiming to surpass the distance that cars typically cover during the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

As official partner for the drive, TUMI supplied luggage from the TUMI | McLaren Spring 2025 collection, including the Velocity Backpack in Super Grey. The latest collaboration blends automotive inspiration with design excellence and allows in-store personalisation, which the States of Endurance drivers experienced on the trip.

The journey began in Monterey, California, where the team marked the North American debut of Project: Endurance at Monterey Car Week. Pit Stops with McLaren retailers included events in Newport Beach, Scottsdale, Dallas, Atlanta and Orlando before the finale in Miami. Each event invited supercar enthusiasts and motorsport fans to meet the drivers and cars of the States of Endurance, while owner convoys joined sections of the route.

Guests explored the legacy and future of McLaren in endurance racing, with displays of the 750S Le Mans, which marks three decades since the iconic victory, and the Project: Endurance car, representing the customer car programme linked to McLaren’s planned return to endurance racing’s top class from 2027 onwards.

Endurance racing and the Le Mans 24 Hours set the ultimate test of resilience in world motorsport. Justin Bell, who drove a McLaren F1 GTR in the 1995 race, said that firsthand. He appeared among several people who met the States of Endurance drivers along the route, including ranchers, astronauts, and world-record-holding athletes, each sharing what endurance means to them.

“Endurance racing represents McLaren’s tenacity, and the States of Endurance journey is a perfect intersection of our endurance heritage with the cutting-edge engineering, technologies and uncompromising standards that make our supercars capable of experiences that still resonate with the driver long after the journey ends. We have brought our community of passionate fans and clients together to experience the thrill and resilience that defines McLaren, while our States of Endurance drivers have discovered for themselves how endurance can transcend beyond the track, to be a feeling; a mindset to live by.” Henrik Wilhelmsmeyer, Chief Commercial Officer, McLaren Automotive.

The McLaren road-car lineup draws directly from its racing DNA, enabling the brand to compete across elite motorsport, from Formula 1 to endurance racing. The benchmark-beating McLaren 750S, the lightest and most powerful series-production McLaren supercar to date, delivers a stunning breadth of ability without compromise. The high-performance hybrid McLaren Artura embodies the McLaren philosophy of super-lightweight engineering, showcasing the full range of McLaren attributes, including distinctive design, unrivalled performance, dynamic excellence, and engineering innovation.

The following expression of luxury performance, groundbreaking technology, and astonishing dynamics arrives with the new McLaren W1, McLaren’s next ‘1’ car and the pioneering successor to two of the greatest supercars ever built, the McLaren F1 and McLaren P1. The W1 is close to completing its own States of Endurance test and validation programme, underlining McLaren’s commitment to endurance-proven road-car performance.
