Bugatti Tourbillon by Jacob & Co and Baguette Edition

Timeless engineering meets high watchmaking as Jacob & Co. unveils the Bugatti Tourbillon and the Bugatti Tourbillon Baguette.

The Bugatti Tourbillon defines a new generation of hypercar performance from the iconic marque. It showcases how exquisite design, ultimate engineering prowess and inimitable character unite in one masterpiece. Jacob & Co. matches this timeless craftsmanship with two eponymous statements in luxury watchmaking. The mesmerising Bugatti Tourbillon and the diamond-covered Bugatti Tourbillon Baguette celebrate what this ageless discipline can achieve.

Both the Bugatti Tourbillon vehicle and timepiece express the same concept. They align aesthetically, mechanically and functionally, sharing DNA shaped by a spirit of innovation that drives Bugatti and Jacob & Co. in their respective fields.

As Bugatti’s world-class engineers wrote a new chapter for the brand with the Tourbillon hypercar, Jacob & Co. accelerated plans to elevate high watchmaking. Together, they created a continuous design process that fuses car and watch from the outset. In under 18 months, Jacob & Co. and Bugatti developed, crafted and delivered the Bugatti Tourbillon timepiece, the product of one of the most creative partnerships between an automotive marque and a house of high watchmaking.

Defining cues from the Tourbillon vehicle-shaped details across its horological namesake. The hypercar’s intricately crafted instrument cluster, made by master watchmakers, informs the overall look of the Bugatti Tourbillon watch. Mirroring the vehicle’s mechanical dashboard layout, Jacob & Co.’s fastest-ever 30-second flying tourbillon occupies the left side of the dial. The hour and minute sub-dial sits front and centre as a near-replica of the RPM and speed counter. On the right, an equally intricate dial indicates the status of the 80-hour power reserve for the movement.

A separate, delicate hand within this display also tracks the power reserve of another signature feature. Inspired by Bugatti’s cutting-edge V16 engine architecture, the watch carries an engine block automaton made entirely from sapphire crystal. Inside, 16 titanium pistons run from a single-axis 22.37 mm crankshaft. At the push of a button, the crankshaft rotates and sends all 16 pistons into motion, creating a hypnotic display of mechanical mastery that underscores the watch’s automotive soul.

The case of the Tourbillon timepiece echoes the form of its automotive sibling like a symbolic beating heart. Measuring 52 x 44 mm and 15 mm thick, the design emulates the Tourbillon car, from rear wing and windows to grille and radiators. Recesses in the case hold these references beneath a laser-etched grid pattern. Inlaid sapphire crystal in the case sides, shaped and tinted like the vehicle’s side windows, offers a tantalising glimpse into the movement’s inner workings.

From the movement case, the Bugatti Tourbillon watch follows the same ethos as its roadgoing partner. It carries a precious quality that recalibrates expectations of what engineers and watchmakers can achieve, and it embodies exclusivity. Eighteen passionate enthusiasts now have the chance to acquire an exceptional, beautifully crafted iteration of the watch, the new Bugatti Tourbillon Baguette.

The Bugatti Tourbillon Baguette shares the original’s holistic design concept and elevates it with precious materials. This stunning timepiece pairs high jewellery with high watchmaking, featuring 17 carats of baguette-cut diamonds. It blends the elegant luxury of the Tourbillon hypercar with Jacob & Co.’s signature craftsmanship and jewellery expertise.

An 18K white gold case carries 328 baguette-cut diamonds and 18 baguette-cut rubies set using an invisible setting pioneered by Jacob & Co., which ensures uninterrupted brilliance from the gemstones. The rubies evoke the Tourbillon hypercar’s taillights. The appearance of a fully diamond-clad design captivates onlookers and, like its hypercar cousin, stands as a pinnacle of innovation, precision and luxury in a true masterpiece of engineering and watchmaking.
