RML P39 Hypercar Debuts at Supercar Fest With 920hp Punch

RML Group, the British engineering pioneer, wowed crowds at Supercar Fest The Runway 2025 with the first public appearance of its limited-edition P39 hypercar prototype. Sywell Aerodrome near Northampton hosted the high-speed showcase, which set the stage for repeated full-throttle runs and allowed RML to prove the car’s credentials before passionate supercar fans.

RML developed the P39 to mark its 40th anniversary, turning the formidable Porsche 992 Turbo S into a daily-drivable hypercar with uncompromising circuit pace. UK enthusiasts will next see the prototype at the Supercar Driver Secret Meet at Silverstone on 17 June, followed by the Silverstone Festival from 22 to 24 August.

Designers reshaped every panel in carbon fibre and integrated active aerodynamics that redefine the Turbo S performance envelope. In road mode, the electronically controlled rear wing conceals its second element; in track mode, the blade is raised and pivots to open a slot gap and deliver 24 per cent more rear downforce. The driver can trigger a Drag-Reduction System to flatten the wing and cut drag by 23 per cent for maximum straight-line speed.

An extending splitter pushes 75 mm forward in Track mode, shifting the centre of pressure nose-ward for sharper turn-in. Air curtains around the front wheels, fender cut-outs, an underbody diffuser and vented rear arches lift overall downforce from the Turbo S baseline 1,432 N to 5,100 N in Road mode and more than 6,500 N at 150 mph in Track mode, matching purpose-built GT racers while retaining compliant ride quality.
Engineers re-imagined the chassis from the hubs inward. New suspension links widen the track, bespoke top mounts preserve camber, and secondary springs raise wheel rates in Track mode without harming comfort on British roads. RML calibrated R53-supplied dampers to give three cockpit-selectable settings, and a four-corner hydraulic lift system offers multiple ride-height options for everything from speed bumps to the pit lane.
Engineers revised the anti-roll hydraulics and retuned the rear-wheel-steer system to complement the lower stance, wider track and extended wheelbase. Bespoke alloys measuring 20×10 inches front and 21×12 inches rear accept customer-specified tyres for tailored grip.

RML and Litchfield Motors overhauled the twin-turbo flat-six, fitting larger-diameter intake and exhaust plumbing, a unique Inconel exhaust valve—the largest ever on a road-going flat-six—and optimised thermal routing. Output climbs to 920 horsepower and 705 lb-ft of torque in Sport and Sport + modes. Additional Wet and Normal presets provide 600 hp and 750 hp, respectively, for low-grip or fast-road scenarios. All bespoke components carry a 12-month or 12,000-mile warranty, and over-the-air updates ensure the P39 evolves with its owner.

Michael Mallock, Board Member responsible for RML’s Bespoke Division, states, “From the outset we set ourselves the challenge of building a car which could switch personalities at the touch of a button – serene on the road, savage on the circuit. The numbers speak for themselves, but what excites me most is how intuitive and confidence-inspiring the P39 feels, whatever the setting.”

Chief Executive Officer Paul Dickinson adds, “P39 is a rolling demonstration of what RML’s Engineering Division can achieve. By integrating active aerodynamics, a re-imagined chassis and a 920 hp powertrain, we have created a hypercar that delivers relentless track performance yet remains perfectly at home on the King’s Road. It is the purest expression of 40 years of engineering excellence, distilled into a car that proudly wears our badge.”

RML will build only 39 examples, and after final tuning and validation, the company will begin UK deliveries in late summer 2025. Buyers can select from a full spectrum of bespoke options, while appointed sales and aftercare agents in the United States and Europe handle international customers.
