Singer DLS Turbo Porsche 964 Sorcerer Revealed and Delivered

Singer, the California-based luxury specialist that restores and reimagines classic Porsche 911s in collaboration with their owners, presents the first car reimagined through DLS Turbo services and reunited with its owner. Singer’s clients often name their car at the start of the restoration, and in this case, the owner chose “Sorcerer.”

Rob Dickinson, Singer’s Founder, Executive Chairman and Creative Director,r explains: “With DLS Turbo,o we wanted to celebrate the 911’s evolution as an icon on both road and track and to explore the possibilities offered by turbocharging the remarkable engine developed through the DLS program. Each car is a collaboration with our clients around the world, and DLS Turbo services are our most ambitious yet, so seeing Sorcerer ready for its owner to drive is a very exciting moment for us and a fantastic way to start the year.”

Mazen Fawaz, Singer’s Chief Strategy Officer, notes: “A powerful, analogue sports car that’s fun to drive is always the goal. It should be as engaging to drive at 40mph as it is at 140mph. We’ve brought together an engine with the low-down torque of turbocharging, the ability to rev to over 9000rpm, and Singer’s standards of execution to make DLS Turbo very special.”

The process begins when the owner of a Porsche 911 (Type 964) sends their car to Singer and requests a personalised restoration. Porsche manufactured these sports cars more than thirty years ago. Drivers have kept them on the road ever since, covering thousands of miles.

Singer begins the restoration by carefully disassembling the owner’s car. Technicians remove the interior. They also remove the exterior bodywork and all mechanical components until the steel monocoque (chassis) appears. The team then assesses the chassis in detail, cleans it, and prepares it so it reaches optimal condition for the next stages. During this phase, Singer applies chassis strengthening to increase the rigidity of the original Type 964 monocoque.

The engine builds on Singer’s deep experience with the Porsche 911 and the lessons learned from the DLS programme, where the company developed its first four-valve cylinder head. This expertise helps Singer keep exploring the performance potential of the Type 964’s iconic flat-six. The team does this through a continuous process of careful client optimisation.

Singer delivers the first engine restored for a Porsche 911 Reimagined, featuring water-cooled cylinder heads, air-cooled cylinders, and an electrically powered fan. Two-variable-geometry turbochargers work with these features. Together, they enable the 3.8L flat-six to develop over 700HP and 750Nm of torque.

The engine revs to over 9000 rpm. To encourage drivers to explore that range, an optimised six-speed manual gearbox sends power to the rear wheels. A raised gear shifter with an exposed shift mechanism underlines the engineering artistry. A hybrid Inconel and titanium exhaust system with side-exits adds to the unique soundtrack of the famous flat-six.

Singer uses carbon fibre expertise to balance iconic DNA with cutting-edge engineering and material science. The team shapes the carbon fibre bodywork using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis to optimise aerodynamic and cooling performance. Carbon fibre reduces weight and increases stiffness. It also sharpens dynamic responses in the way Singer’s clients expect from a restored and reimagined Porsche 911.

Singer’s restoration services give owners the choice between a road- or track-focused front fascia and rear bodywork. Sorcerer’s owner chose a dramatic track-focused configuration with a deep front spoiler and a larger, raised rear wing. Singer presents Sorcerer in Fantasia Blue with a graduated effect that darkens towards the rear of the car. The owner specified the lower exterior trim in satin carbon fibre and the upper trim in black anodised finish.

Singer enables owners to personalise the interior to match their preferences through bespoke paint, leather, and material finishes. Sorcerer’s owner specified seats trimmed in Pebble Grey leather with Pearl Grey Alcantara seat centres and contrast Champagne piping. The owner also specified the bright interior trim in Champagne and selected satin carbon fibre for the lower interior. Behind the driver, the owner specified a rear cross-brace.

In front of the driver, Singer reimagines the familiar 911 instrument layout. Sorcerer’s owner specified hand-built, floating gauges with Champagne bezels that bring high-watchmaking standards into the cabin. Singer’s mastery of leatherworking and textiles lets owners tailor the car’s character with precision. Singer incorporates technology with restraint, offering discreet navigation and phone connectivity.

Singer enhances the engine’s dynamic performance with a sophisticated approach to suspension, brakes, wheels and tyres. The car uses double wishbone suspension at the front and lightweight trailing arms at the rear. CCM-R carbon-ceramic discs with monoblock callipers provide braking for both road and track use. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres sit on lightweight 19” (front) and 20” (rear) forged magnesium centrelock wheels with a Champagne finish. The owner also specified a nose lift system.

The driver can select from five drive modes (Road, Sport, Track, Off and Weather). Each mode adjusts the intervention levels from traction control and electronic stability control to suit road conditions and driver capability.

As with every Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer, Sorcerer reflects its owner’s individual requirements. The specification includes a Type 964 chassis and lightweight carbon-fibre bodywork in Fantasia Blue, with a track-focused configuration. It uses a 3.8L, four-valve-per-cylinder twin-turbocharged flat-six with an electrically powered fan. It pairs this engine with a six-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. It includes a carbon-ceramic braking system and lightweight 19” (front) and 20” (rear) forged magnesium centre-lock wheels. The interior combines Pebble Grey leather and Pearl Grey Alcantara with Champagne trim. The owner also specified a nose lift, air-conditioning, navigation, and CarPlay connectivity.

Singer proves its restoration services through a rigorous development schedule. Test cars complete thousands of miles of intensive evaluation at world-famous automotive proving grounds. These include Millbrook in the UK, IDIADA in Spain, Nardo in Italy, and the Nürburgring in Germany, where TÜV certification for Singer’s services is conducted.

Singer’s clientèle includes discerning, sophisticated drivers worldwide. Singer supports them through the specification, restoration and ownership experience with a world-class team of experts. In more markets, owners also access local support through the company’s Global Partner Network (GPN). This network brings together experienced automotive specialists across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australasia.
