Twisted Group Acquisition Adds SAC & Co. Engineering Expertise

Twisted Group has acquired a majority share in Coventry-based SAC & Co. Engineering Design Ltd. The Twisted Group acquisition responds to rising demand across its automotive and marine divisions. It brings specialist in-house expertise in 3D geometry scanning, engineering surfacing design, custom tooling and hand-crafted sheet metal fabrication.

SAC & Co. has worked as a specialist partner to Twisted for many years. Most recently, the firm played a key role in designing and developing the TRRC, Twisted's bespoke reinterpretation of the classic two-door Range Rover. SAC & Co. carried out full 3D scanning of the donor vehicle's geometry, collaborated on the surfacing and developed dedicated tooling. It continues to manufacture the car's hand-crafted 1.5mm aluminium outer body panels.

Jake Cronk, Chief Operating Officer of Twisted Group, commented: "Acquiring SAC & Co. is a pivotal operational move for Twisted Group. Having worked with Steve Charlton and his team for years, we now bring their scanning, engineering, surfacing, tooling & fabrication capabilities directly into the business, completing our cradle-to-grave manufacturing capability. Combined with carbon fibre and advanced composite specialist KS Composites, Twisted Marine and Twisted Automotive, we now possess the ultimate toolbox for niche manufacturing as we expand in North America and other international markets."

SAC & Co. will keep its name, corporate structure and operational base in Coventry. It will also continue to serve its external clients alongside its work on Twisted projects.

Steve Charlton remains Managing Director and will lead SAC's day-to-day operations. The deal allows SAC & Co. to build on its in-house talent, and the acquisition focuses on streamlining production, increasing efficiency and scaling capability.

Steve Charlton, Managing Director of SAC & Co. Engineering Design Ltd, said: "Joining Twisted Group is a natural evolution of a relationship built over many years. Our expertise in digital scanning & engineering, rapid tooling, and hand fabrication aligns perfectly with Twisted’s uncompromising standards. Operating within the Twisted Group structure gives us the resources and stability to expand our capabilities while maintaining complete continuity for our existing commercial client relationships."

The transaction supports Twisted Group's strategy of international expansion, investment in US infrastructure and the development of future niche vehicle platforms.

Customers worldwide can now order the TRRC, with 12 build slots available each year and prices starting at £350,000.
