DYMAG, BORBET and AIM Unite to Revolutionise Wheel Tech

DYMAG® Technologies Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of BORBET GmbH, has partnered with ADVANCED INTERNATIONAL MULTITECH CO., LTD. (AIM) to fast-track the development and industrialisation of carbon hybrid and composite wheel technology for the automotive and motorcycle sectors. This strategic alliance combines DYMAG’s leadership in carbon wheel innovation, BORBET’s global reputation for premium aluminium wheels, and AIM’s advanced production capabilities to deliver a new benchmark in lightweight, high-strength wheel solutions.

With over 50 years of engineering heritage, DYMAG has led carbon wheel technology since the mid-1990s, launching the world’s first commercial carbon wheels for cars and motorcycles. Before other manufacturers entered the field, DYMAG developed and patented a distinctive carbon hybrid wheel design that provides superior durability, impact resistance and stiffness. Their cutting-edge innovation stems from decades of high-performance motorsport experience and technical mastery in carbon fibre, magnesium and forged aluminium.

DYMAG’s patented BX-F™ carbon wheel designs have attracted interest from leading automotive manufacturers as OEMs increasingly prioritise efficiency, safety and performance. These lightweight carbon hybrid wheels deliver clear advantages, offering a scalable solution that meets modern mobility demands.

BORBET GmbH, based in Hallenberg-Hesborn, Germany, has manufactured light alloy wheels since 1881. Supplying over 30 carmakers globally, BORBET plays a vital role in the OEM and aftermarket sectors. The company operates seven sites worldwide, employing the latest technology to produce wheels that combine engineering excellence with forward-looking design. BORBET’s commitment to sustainability, innovation and quality ensures it remains at the forefront of shaping future mobility.

Taiwan-based AIM brings over 30 years of experience in carbon composite engineering. AIM is recognised for its high-performance carbon sports gear and precision manufacturing expertise; it is Taiwan’s most significant carbon composite producer. The company’s scalable manufacturing model supports efficient production of DYMAG’s carbon hybrid wheels, enabling wider global adoption. This collaboration will enhance product refinement and accelerate integration into OEM platforms.

The three companies leverage their strengths—DYMAG’s patented technology, BORBET’s OEM know-how and AIM’s advanced manufacturing—to create a reliable, globally integrated supply chain. Their coordinated technical approach ensures that carbon hybrid wheels can be smoothly embedded into OEM production lines, supporting the automotive industry's shift towards lightweight, efficient vehicle design.

This partnership redefines what’s possible in wheel technology. By uniting cutting-edge design, industrial scale and technical excellence, DYMAG, BORBET and AIM are leading the transition to lightweight, high-performance, and safety-led wheel solutions for both automotive and motorcycle markets.

Christopher Shelley, Executive Chair at DYMAG, stated: “This partnership enables DYMAG® to bring our carbon wheel technology to the rapidly expanding OEM market, supporting the industry’s shift towards lightweight, high-performance solutions.”

Burkhard Plett, CEO of BORBET, commented: “By combining BORBET’s OEM expertise with DYMAG’s pioneering carbon wheel technology, we are creating a scalable solution that will redefine high-performance wheels for automakers worldwide.”

Mike Chou, General Manager of AIM Group, added: “Our manufacturing expertise in advanced composites, combined with DYMAG’s patented wheel technology, positions us to bring industry-leading lightweight solutions to market at scale.”
