Alpine A110 Bows Out: Final Series And Future Electric Era
Alpine prepares to build the final second-generation A110, with a total of 1,750 cars, and has reserved just 50 A110 R 70 examples for this last, highly sought-after series. The Manufacture Alpine Dieppe Jean Rédélé in Normandy continues to craft every A110 by hand until Alpine ends production of the current model in mid-2026, preserving the spirit of an icon while ushering in a new era of lightweight French sports cars.
The countdown has now begun for the brand's emblematic Berlinetta, as Alpine prepares a complete transformation into a pure electric sports car. This will be the first model to feature the new APP platform, developed in-house for future high-performance Alpine vehicles. The next-generation A110 will reinvent the electric sports car with a distinctive French character. At the same time, the final petrol-powered A110 range offers enthusiasts a rare opportunity to secure a piece of motoring history.
Jean Rédélé launched the original Alpine Berlinetta in 1962 and defined the marque's DNA: low weight, sharp handling, a competitive spirit, and that celebrated "je ne sais quoi" of French savoir-faire. From its debut, the Berlinetta combined agility and accessibility to deliver serious performance on both the road and the rally stage, culminating in its historic victory as the first car to win the World Rally Championship in 1973. This heritage underpins every modern Alpine A110 and continues to attract demanding drivers who value engagement, precision and authenticity.
In 2017, the Alpine A110 signalled the return of the "A-arrow" brand and immediately reconnected with a dedicated community of sports car enthusiasts. With its compact dimensions, aluminium construction, and mid-engined balance, the A110 carved out a unique position among lightweight performance cars and has remained at the top of its category in terms of desirability and sales. Unmoved by fleeting trends, the A110 has enjoyed a steadily rising sales curve throughout its life cycle, culminating in its final chapter, with total production approaching 30,000 units. This achievement sets a new record for Alpine and stands as a significant source of pride for the Manufacture Alpine Dieppe Jean Rédélé.
As Alpine prepares its first electric models, the A290 and A390, the brand opens a decisive new chapter, extending its racing expertise and design flair into the era of high-performance electric vehicles. The A110 remains central to this story and will soon return as a Berlinetta, reimagining French style in electric sports cars for drivers who refuse to compromise on emotion, precision, or heritage.
Collectors take note. The final A110 lineup still offers three distinct versions, each created for drivers who value sharp responses and immersive feedback. The Alpine A110 stays closest to the original concept. Its 252 hp engine, low weight, and finely tuned chassis deliver effortless precision on twisting roads, while standard 118-inch diamond-cut Serac Noir wheels, anthracite Brembo brake callipers, and Sabelt bucket seats in microfibre leather sport upholstery underline its focused character.
The Alpine A110 GTS, which has replaced the previous GT and S versions, combines grand touring comfort with track-ready performance. Equally suited to fast road driving and circuit sessions, it delivers strong acceleration and everyday usability without dilution. Its 300 hp engine, paired with the dynamic chassis from the A110 S, provides razor-sharp responses. An optional GTS aerodynamic kit, derived from the A110 R, enhances stability and visual drama. A GTS Grey leather interior coordinates with carbon fibre exterior details to create a cohesive, purposeful look.
The Alpine A110 R 70 crowns the range as an ultra sporty limited edition that celebrates 70 years of Alpine performance. Alpine has engineered the A110 R 70 as a valid showcase for carbon fibre technology, using the material extensively from the front bonnet to the rear window, including the roof, rear spoiler and wheel rims. Especially designed chassis setup and 300 hp engine deliver an intense, highly communicative driving experience that matches its radical appearance. A 70th anniversary commemorative logo appears on the wings, door sills and headrests. At the same time, a numbered plaque confirms the exclusivity of this limited series of 770 units worldwide, of which only 50 examples form part of the final production run.
In France, the closing chapter of the Alpine A110 range starts at 66,900 € for the A110, rises to 79,900 € for the A110 GTS and reaches 122,900 € for the A110 R 70. Each model offers direct access to Alpine's racing-inspired engineering and iconic design at a pivotal moment, just before the legend evolves into its next generation of electric sports cars.
