BLUETTI Charger 2 Boosts RV Power With 1,200W Charging

At CES 2026, BLUETTI showcases a strategic shift in mobile power with the BLUETTI Charger 2. The Charger 2 goes beyond a routine upgrade. It brings car and solar charging together in one smart energy hub, helping travellers, RV owners, and off-road enthusiasts recharge faster and with less hassle.

For years, the 12V cigarette lighter socket has limited mobile charging and often requires more than 10 hours to charge a 1kWh battery. Traditional setups also forced people to choose one source at a time. Drivers either used alternator charging on the move or relied on solar charging when parked.

The BLUETTI Charger 2 removes that compromise with a dual-input design. It draws power from the vehicle's alternator and solar panels simultaneously, delivering up to 1,200W of combined output. That performance charges up to 13 times faster than a typical car outlet and almost twice as fast as the previous model. Drivers can now top up a 1kWh unit in under an hour, so even short trips can add meaningful range to a portable power station.

BLUETTI also keeps the upgrade practical. The Charger 2 supports around 95% of third-party power stations and works with modern smart alternators that meet Euro 6 standards. That compatibility helps users avoid lock-in to a single ecosystem and keeps installation simple without costly electrical work or major system changes.

Existing BLUETTI users can also swap in the new unit with minimal effort. The Charger 2 uses the same wiring layout as the original Charger 1 alternator charger, so owners can make a "drop-in" replacement without re-cabling. BLUETTI also runs a dedicated upgrade programme to make the changeover smoother.

For RV owners seeking a simpler, RV-ready setup, the Charger 2 offers a more accessible option than last year's larger RVSolar 48V power system. It connects the starter battery, solar panels, DC loads, and expansion battery packs through a singlehub, creating a streamlined dual-battery system for entry-level, budget-focused builds. While driving, the unit intelligently balances alternator and roof-mounted solar inputs to charge auxiliary BLUETTI batteries and run onboard loads simultaneously. While parked, the system automatically switches to solar and battery power, so essentials like car fridges and Starlink terminals can run overnight without draining the starter battery. Digital nomads can also add the optional Charger 2 DC Hub, which provides a tidy, professional-grade setup with a DIY-friendly 12V/50A Anderson port and up to 600W of stable DC output for high-draw kits such as Starlink terminals and diesel heaters.

BLUETTI also focuses on battery care for remote travel. The Charger 2 supports bidirectional utility, helping drivers avoid common stranded-vehicle scenarios. In an emergency, it can jumpstart a depleted starter battery with up to 800W. For storage periods, it can maintain the battery through 100W trickle charging. It can also run 100W pulse maintenance to reduce sulphation and help extend service life.

BLUETTI builds control and safety into the platform. The Charger 2 communicates via a D+ signal to work smoothly with Euro 6 smart alternators and avoid alternator conflicts. Users can track real-time status, control outputs, and review energy history in the updated BLUETTI App over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The system also includes comprehensive protections as standard, including safeguards against overvoltage, overheating, and reverse polarity.
