Nick Collins Leads McLaren Automotive After CYVN Acquisition

McLaren Group Holdings has appointed its Chief Executive Officer, Nick Collins, to lead McLaren Automotive, uniting strategic control of the British supercar manufacturer with the broader group’s interests in McLaren Licensing and McLaren Racing.

Abu Dhabi’s advanced-mobility investor, CYVN Holdings, completed its takeover of McLaren Automotive earlier this month and immediately began integrating the firm with its flagship UK venture, luxury electric-vehicle start-up Forseven, thereby strengthening a shared commitment to performance innovation.

The leadership change takes effect immediately because Michael Leiters, who became Chief Executive Officer in July 2022, has stepped down after steering McLaren through recapitalisation and a complex ownership transition. During his tenure, he oversaw the launches of the multi-award-winning 750S, the new Artura Spider and Coupé, the extreme Solus GT and the recently revealed W1, the latest chapter in McLaren’s storied ‘1’ car lineage.

Leiters remarked, “I am honoured to have led McLaren Automotive over the past three years. I am thankful to have worked alongside such a dedicated and talented team. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together and confident that the business is on a strong path for success. I wish all involved the very best in the future.”

CYVN and McLaren Group Holdings Chairman Jassem Mohamed Bu Ataba Al Zaabi said, “Michael has played a crucial role during his time at McLaren Automotive, and we thank him for all he’s achieved during his tenure. We wish him every success in his future endeavours.”

Nick Collins added, “We thank Michael for his leadership and tremendous contributions made during a pivotal time for McLaren Automotive. I wish him well in his personal and professional future.”
