Rolls-Royce Phantom Dentelle: Bespoke Couture-Inspired Luxury

Rolls-Royce has unveiled the Phantom Dentelle, a unique, couture-inspired luxury motor car commissioned through Private Office Dubai as a heartfelt gift from a Middle Eastern client to their father. Drawing on delicate lace woven on a rare Leavers loom, the design team translated three-dimensional floral motifs and pearl-like accents into every surface, proving once again that inspiration for a Rolls-Royce commission can emerge from anywhere.

“We always say that inspiration for a motor car commission can be found anywhere, and after more than two decades, our clients constantly prove how true this is. This stunning Phantom Dentelle, commissioned through Private Office Dubai, is an homage to the exquisite handmade lace used in some of the world’s leading haute couture ateliers. Using the medium of embroidery, we translated this delicate material into our pinnacle product, which, in its uniqueness, beauty and craftsmanship, can be regarded as an authentic expression of haute couture.” Michelle Lusby, Private Office Dubai Designer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars

Inside, the Phantom’s full-width Gallery showcases a bespoke artwork that layers over 160,000 stitches in Rose Gold, Sunrise and Oatmeal threads to evoke petals, ferns and delicate lacework. Craftspeople built a filigree mesh with triple-run stitches, then added satin-stitched blossoms whose raised accents catch the light like pearls on a couture gown. The rear Waterfall continues the botanical theme with around 70,000 additional stitches, while Rose Gold speaker grilles echo the embroidery’s warmth.

“The embroidery detailing in the Gallery and rear Waterfall is incredibly complex and designed to capture the soft lustre of pearls. It catches the light as you move around the motor car – or as the sunlight shifts while driving – like the shimmer of a couture gown under flashbulbs on the red carpet. It brings a remarkable sense of movement and theatre to something entirely still.” Brienny Dudley, Interior Trim Centre, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars

Sunrise and Grace White leathers, embroidered ‘RR’ monograms and Piano White veneer complete the refined cabin. Outside, artisans applied a two-tone Bespoke finish: Crystal over Arctic White below the coachline and Crystal over Palais Nemasker Dawn above, the latter reserved exclusively for the commissioning client. A hand-painted Sunrise coachline ends with a leafy branch bearing pearl-inspired berries, mirroring the interior artwork. The Phantom Dentelle rides on 22-inch Fully Polished Disc wheels with body-coloured centres and Arctic White pinstripes. A polished Pantheon Grille crowns a Rose-Gold Spirit of Ecstasy, and matching treadplates reinforce the couture theme.

The client worked directly with a Rolls-Royce Bespoke designer and a Client Experience Manager at Private Office Dubai, an invitation-only space that brings the Home of Rolls-Royce to the region. This collaborative approach allowed the family to shape every detail of Phantom Dentelle, ensuring the finished motor car embodies personal sentiment, haute couture craftsmanship and the unrivalled prestige of a one-of-one Rolls-Royce Phantom.
